Cynthia Rider
Cynthia Rylant is an acclaimed American author best known for her children’s and young adult books. She was born on June 6, 1954, in Hopewell, Virginia, and spent much of her childhood in the Appalachian region of West Virginia, which strongly influences her writing. She has written more than 100 books, ranging from picture books to novels. Rylant is especially famous for creating the Henry and Mudge series and the Mr. Putter & Tabby series, both widely used in early reading programs worldwide.
