David Goggins
David Goggins is an American motivational speaker, author, and retired United States Navy SEAL. He was born on February 17, 1975, in Buffalo, New York. Goggins is known for his resilience, determination, and ability to push beyond perceived limits. He has completed more than seventy ultra-distance races, often placing in the top-five, and is a former Guinness World Record holder for completing 4,030 pull-ups in seventeen hours. Goggins' journey from a struggling, overweight young man to a Navy SEAL and ultra-marathon runner is a testament to the power of the human spirit. His transformation began when he was 23/24 years old, weighing almost 300 pounds and working as a pest control worker. After watching a TV show about Navy SEALs, he decided to face his fears and start training for the SEALs. He is the only member of the U.S. Armed Forces to complete SEAL training (including two Hell Weeks), the U.S. Army Ranger School (where he graduated as Enlisted Honor Man), and Air Force Tactical Air Controller training. Additionally, he has competed in over sixty ultra-marathons, triathlons, and ultra-triathlons, setting new course records and regularly placing in the top five. Goggins is also known for his motivational speaking and writing. His memoir, "Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds," was released on December 4, 2018, and a follow-up sequel, "Never Finished: Unshackle Your Mind and Win the War Within," was published on December 4, 2022. His philosophy includes the "40% Rule," which suggests that most people only tap into 40% of their capabilities. He emphasizes the importance of mental toughness and overcoming self-doubt to achieve one's goals.
