Bibek Debroy was a renowned economist, scholar, and translator, known for his extensive work in economics and his translations of ancient Sanskrit texts into English. He has authored and translated several books, including the Mahabharata in ten volumes and the three-volume Valmiki Ramayana, both of which have been published to wide acclaim.
His other works include the Shiva Purana, the Bhagavad Gita, the Vedas, and various other religious and philosophical texts.
Debroy was also the author of "Sarama and Her Children," which combines his interest in Hinduism with his love for dogs.
Additionally, he co-authored "Inked in India," a comprehensive documentation of fountain pen, nib, and ink manufacturers in India.
His contributions to literature and economics have left a significant impact, and he was awarded the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan for his services.
