Born in 1979. Produced films such as "Confessions", "Villain", "Love Strikes", "Wolf Children", "your name.", and "Monster".

In 2012, he published his debut novel "If Cats Disappeared from the World" with over 3 million copies sold and was translated and published in 38 countries and regions. It reached #4 on The New York Times bestseller list for paperback. His other works include the novels "Million Dollar Man", "April Come She Will", "The Divine Comedy", and "The Horse and I", all of which have also been translated and published internationally.

In 2022, he made his directorial debut with the film "Hundreds of Flowers", based on one of his own novels. The film won the Silver Shell for Best Director Award at the 70th San Sebastián International Film Festival.

In 2025, his second directorial work "Exit 8" was officially selected for the 78th Cannes Film Festival. It has since been invited to the Toronto International Film Festival, the Busan International Film Festival, and the Sitges Film Festival in Catalonia, and is scheduled for North American distribution by NEON.
