The Corfu Trilogy is a compilation of three different classic tales inspired from the author's childhood. They are My Family and Other Animals, Birds, Beasts and Relatives and the Garden of Gods. These three books come together in a single book in the Corfu Trilogy.

The books are based in Corfu during the 1930s and tell the story of the English family who moves there. The author recounts the strange animals and birds that inhabit the island, that he collects and cares for in his zoo. His family often objects to his animal - collecting activities, more so when the beasts loiter around their home or are found at inappropriate places.

The books portray the funny and lovable aspects of the family. They also highlight the author's lifelong love for animals. The book contains simple moments involving cicadas in the olive groves, lamp fishing at night, the complexities of fish and animals and how it was all moulded by the happenings in Corfu.

The book contains 36 chapters that are independent of each other, along with an illustrious cast of characters. It has a fabulous and exciting description of the landscape and the island's culture. The pages are humorous and are a memoir about the author's childhood while growing up in Corfu.
